Teeth Whitening in Tring Hertfordshire: Achieve a Brighter Smile

Maintaining a standard for oral health and hygiene, whether by regularly brushing, flossing or visiting the dentist, is the most, if not only, reliable method of naturally achieving white and healthy teeth.

Still, teeth may appear darker or yellower than one would prefer, regardless of the dental regime they follow. In these cases, teeth whitening is the fastest and simplest way to undo the damage caused by your diet, vices, age, activities or medications. How It Works

Zoom Teeth Whitening is a safe, pain-free and sustainable way of making teeth multiple shades lighter in as little as one hour. Philips has designed the Zoom Whitening for use at both dental offices and at home, with the latter used over the course of two weeks or more.

If you choose to undergo Zoom Teeth Whitening at Bow House Dental, your teeth can become eight shades whiter in 45 minutes, and our trained dentist will facilitate the entire treatment in a safe, reliable and hassle-free manner. To achieve optimal results, the dentist may clean or scale the teeth before the bleaching procedure.

Your lips and gums will be covered, while the dentist or dental assistant applies the Zoom Whitening hydrogen peroxide gel onto the exposed teeth. The gel is then exposed to the patented Zoom light to activate it, enabling the gel to permeate the teeth’s surface and eliminate stains or discolouration. Bow House Dental will repeat the 15-minute gel application and light activation procedure twice more, for a total treatment time of 45 minutes. Immediate application of a sensitivity-reducing fluoride paste-gel is made afterward.

Philips also manufactures Zoom Teeth Whitening kits, which Bow House Dental can supply to patients who wish to conduct the procedure themselves. Follow your dentist’s instructions to make the most out of this revolutionary take-home whitening system.

Who can have Teeth whitening?

Over 10 million people worldwide have benefitted from Zoom Whitening’s safe, speedy and satisfying results. But, there are cases where heat, tingling, sensitivity and gag reflexes may complicate the whitening procedure. Your dentist will make the necessary adjustments if you notify him or her of these conditions. Bow House Dental notes that the teeth whitening system is not recommended for children under 16 years of age, or for pregnant or lactating women. Results of the procedure may also vary depending on a patient’s prior shade assessment and dental conditions.

Teeth are stained by the foods and drinks we consume. Smoking further stains teeth and the natural bright, white shade becomes darkened. This is a successful and simple method of lightening the colour of your teeth. The degree of whiteness achieved will vary from patient to patient and with the type of bleaching process chosen.

ACHIEVE A HEALTHY WHITE SMILE

A good way to achieve healthy white teeth is to match the colour of your teeth with the whites of your eyes and, to achieve optimum results, we suggest the following:

  1. You must follow our dentists’ advice
  2. You should be consistent with the treatment.
  3. You are not ‘yellowing’ whilst you are whitening your teeth – meaning that you should avoid food and drink with excessive colour such as tea, coffee, red wine and curry.

If you sustain a good diet, you can expect your teeth to retain their colour for approximately 2-4 years. And you can maintain your result long-term using the ‘top up’ the whitening procedure and booking in regular visits with your hygienist.

Teeth whitening is a simple and safe procedure, but we would advise against treatment if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Teeth whitening can cause sensitivity, which is normal, and is present only during the whitening process, subsiding soon after it is stopped. Your dentist will give you some simple advice to reduce the sensitivity whilst you get your desired result.
